Why a Dietician?

A dietician specializes in the science of human nutrition.  A registered dietician studies for a minimum of four years  at an University to obtain his/her qualifications and is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

What makes the services offered by a dietician unique?
The dietician calculates each prescribed diet according to trhe individuals' specific requirements (height, age, ideal body weight, clinical condition e.g diabetes / or specific dietary needs e.g. sports nutrition or nutrition during pregnancy). Most medical aids pay for the services of a dietician.
Who is Dianda Snyman?

I am a dietician in private practice. My passion is to make a difference in other peoples’ lives and to be part of the journey to their permanent lifestyle change!
I’ve done varies talks and presentations  on healthy eating and lifestyle change, vitamin and mineral supplementation, diabetes, elderly nutrition, pregnancy and lactation and sports nutrition for Limpopo referees  to name a few.  I’ve also been part of a nine months Weight loss and Lifestyle Change Programme that was based on the Biggest Loser and ran a three month weight loss project for a company and its employees.  I’ve also gained experience in hospital dietetics in both SA and the UK and I also worked in a medical call centre before.

I believe to  be healthy and to make a permanent lifestyle change is like climbing a mountain…..  The day that we stop climbing, we lose our grip on the next rung and start down; let us therefore not stop but climb up to the top.
